We all know that the current situation with COVID-19 protocols has not been easy on our kids, to tell the least, so I wanted to keep them away from the thought that this holiday season is different from those in the past. So far, we made the best out of it, within the limits we are all experiencing. Dropping letters to Santa, driving around our neighborhood to see the local displays, visiting The Aventura Station at Aventura Mall, decorating the gingerbread house, baking holiday cookies, and some arts and crafts were all part of our to-do-list.
This is the most wonderful time of the year and watching the kids enjoy decorating the tree, putting on the outdoor lights, even trying on their Holiday pajamas is so special. There is something about the holidays that makes them enjoy every day even more. Everything surprises them, whether it is a lighted reindeer at our neighbor’s front yard, the gingerbread cookies kit, or the new ornaments for our Christmas tree. How long will that magic last? I don’t know, but I will enjoy that healthy innocence that comes with this magical season as long as it does.
