Our Chosen Beach Spots in North Miami Beach and Miami Beach

Heading to the Beach is our Way of Taking a Break

By Carolina Taratuty, Editor & Publisher | MK North East Miami and Miami Beach July 15, 2020

We are certainly living difficult times and our job as working mothers has gotten even more intense during this pandemic. Taking care of my four kids, the house, and work simultaneously with no breaks has definitely been a challenge. Free family events are for the most canceled so our best way of breaking the routine of staying at home, in a safe way, is heading to the beach.

At the beach, the kids have so much fun! They spend long hours in the water, then sometimes playing with sand and then back to the water. It is not only fun but an open space where we can respect our priority nowadays that is maintaining social distance, while still enjoying the beautiful sun and breeze.

How lucky are we living in South Florida? When going through challenging times, it is hard to see good around some days, but if we could stop for a couple of seconds and find the good things that make us feel better, and are a short drive away, it is so worth it. The beach makes me and my family feel better. What makes your family feel better and is close to your home?

We like finding "easy" spots to go to, with a close-by parking area, showers, and a playground (for when these reopen) at the beach exit. These two are our favorites to go to:

- 75th Street & Ocean Terrace ("Ocean Terrace Public Beach")

- 53rd Street & Collins Avenue

Before visiting our beautiful beaches, these are the COVID-19 Miami Beach safety measures that you need to know:

  • Beach is open from 7 AM to 8 PM
  • No use of exercise equipment or playgrounds
  • No pets on the beach
  • No floats
  • 6 feet apart social distancing enforced
  • No tents or canopies
  • No fishing
  • No shared equipment, organized activities, sports, or classes
  • Groups of 10 or more are prohibited
  • No special events or group picnics
  • No coolers
  • FACIAL COVERING MUST BE READILY AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES AND ARE REQUIRED FOR USE AT BATHROOMS, CONCESSIONS OR WHEN SOCIAL DISTANCING CANNOT BE ACHIEVED WITH THAT OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD.
