Fall is a great time for your kids to try out a new sport, advance skills at a sport they already play, and to start training with the next edition of Healthy Kids Running Series in Miami!
Healthy Kids Running Series (“HKRS”) is a community-based nonprofit organization that gets boys and girls Pre-K through Middle School active, feel accomplished and lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. HKRS offers a fun, inclusive, 5 week running program for kids ages 2-14 and a positive introduction to the world of running.
The next HKRS in Miami takes place at Little Haiti Soccer Park (6301 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33138), at 2.30pm on Sundays, beginning October 20th through November 17th. Each event offers age-appropriate race distances, between 50 yard and 1 mile. Each week, kids compete for a chance to earn points, and at the end of the series, the boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division earn a trophy. All participants receive a finishers medal, race bag and Healthy Kids Running Series shirt.
Participants can sign up online or at the park. The price is $35 (until 3 weeks from start date) or $40 for a full series sign up. Participants can also sign up for one day participation, which costs $10 per race.
Healthy Kids Running Series teaches its participants to live an active lifestyle through goal setting and dedication. Over 50,000 plus kids participate in more than 200 Healthy Kids Running Series nationwide. The Healthy Kids Running Series was founded in 2009 to combat increasing rates of childhood obesity through the introduction of running. What began in West Chester, PA, now operates in upwards of 200 communities across the country.
