12 Easy Date Ideas in our Area for Parents

We all know too well that planning a date night is easier said than done. But that doesn’t meant that spending some quality time with our partner is  any less important. 

To give you some inspiration for some child-free time together with your partner, here are 12 date ideas for busy parents. No matter what you like to do, our area has something for you at any time of the day, and it doesn't have to be ordinary or expensive:

  1. Catch the Sunset at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park - this little park on the bay is located next to the marina in Sunset Harbour in South Beach, offering stunning water front views to the west of the bay, the Miami shore and the boats going by. 
  2. Kayak at Oleta River State Park - Florida’s largest urban park - and explore this spectacular natural oasis of hardwood hammocks and mangroves.
  3. Go to the beach - No matter what the time of year, the beach is an ideal place for a romantic date. Surfside’s public beach is quiet, clean and not as hectic as South Beach. Bring a couple towels and spend an hour or two relaxing by the water.
  4. Book two spots for an Escape Room and unlock the puzzle (and the door) together. At PaniQ Escape Room in Wynwood, you can step into a real-life mystery, solve brainteasers, beat technology at its own game, and  get immersed completely into the game. 
  5. Have a picnic at South Pointe Park - Take advantage of the nice weather and pack up a nice picnic in the park or grab your lunch at Joe’s Take Away.
  6. Spend the night enjoying live music, good wine, cheese and cold cuts in the outdoor patio of Lagniappe, a cozy New Orleans-style wine bar behind Midtown with a shabby-chic decor supplying barbecue & live music nightly
  7. Be a tourist in your own town - Check out The Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami. A medieval Spanish monastery built in Spain and moved to the US., it offers beautiful gardens and architecture to look at.
  8. Meet for a drink after work at Amara at Paraiso, sit outside and enjoy amazing views, especially at sunset. 
  9. Walk, run, roller skate in Miami Beach along the oceanfront path. After biking or blading, a perfect place for an informal but good meal is Taquiza, a nice little place for tacos (7450 Ocean Terrace, in North Beach). 
  10. Ice skating is by far one of the most popular winter date ideas! Strap on those ice skates and take your partner to the Barbara Medina Ice Rink at the Scott Rakow Youth Center , a state of the art 12,885 square foot ice skating rink in Miami Beach. 
  11. Unlike bars or restaurants, coffee dates can happen any time of day, it can be as short or long as you want (can) and you don’t need to dress up. Hit your local coffee shop or discover a new coffee shop together. If you or your partner love cats, you can have Purrfect coffee date with adoptable Kitties at Cat Cafe South Beach
  12. Visit a botanical garden for lovely stroll. Make the natural beauty of Miami Beach Botanical Garden the setting for an open-air date . This 2.6 acre  urban oasis features subtropical plants from all around the world, unusual plans and South Florida native plants.
