Veterans Day Parades and Events in our Area

November 11th is a day to show respect to Veterans. It also gives us the opportunity to teach our kids to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served or are serving in the military, risking their lives daily to protect our freedom. 

if you’d like to thank a Veteran, but feel unsure about where to begin, consider attending a Veterans Day parade or event in our area. Standing, cheering and clapping for Veterans marching past is great way to show our appreciation to those who have served. 

Here are a list of events scheduled for this weekend in our area:

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH


Veterans Day Celebration @ Heritage Park9.30-11am

Join us, in partnership with the NSE/SIB K-8 School, as we honor our Military Veterans and recognize the 2018 additions to the Veterans Wall at Heritage Park. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony. Free parking will be available in the Heritage Park garage and under the William Lehman Causeway.

Aventura Salutes America's Veterans10am

The City invites the community to remember and recognize all the brave men and women who have served and are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces at its annual Veterans Day ceremony! The ceremony includes local veterans sharing personal reflections, patriotic performances by the Aventura City of Excellence School, a World War II display, as well as participation from local veterans groups. 

Veterans Day Ceremony in Surfside10-11am

The Town of Surfside Park and Recreation Department will be hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony.  The event will include: Mayor, as Master of Ceremonies, Presentation of Colors, Local Scout Troops and Guest Speakers.

Miami Beach Annual Veterans Day Parade11.11am

Join the City of Miami Beach for their annual Veterans Day parade on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 11:11 a.m. presented by Miami Beach Medical Group. Honoring our military men and women, the largest parade in South Florida takes route on iconic Ocean Drive from Fifth to 14th streets. This year, the red, white and blue brigade will move into Lummus Park for the closing festivities that include a family picnic, military fly-overs and the high-flying all veterans parachute team that will top off the lively day with an exhilarating landing.


MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH


2018 Veterans Day Ceremony and Family Day @ Griffin Park10am

Come with your entire family to give thanks and salute all of our servicemen and women for their dedication to our country. Family-style picnic available as well as games for the children.Bring your lawn chair and blanket.

Veterans Day Service in North Miami Beach10am-12pm

Join us as we pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country and those who continue to preserve our freedom. Enjoy guest speakers, a 21 gun salute, and special presentations.
