20 Ideas to Celebrate Grandparents Day - September 9th

Did you know that National Grandparents Day is this Sunday, September 9th? We never thank our grandparents enough for all the help, affection and support they give us and our children. So, whether they’re our grandparents or our children’s grandparents, let’s celebrate the important role they play in our lives and bond with them. Try a few of these ideas for making National Grandparents Day a special time for your family, and maybe you’ll want to start a yearly tradition of your own.

OUTSIDE

1. Invite them for a fancy afternoon tea at La Gourmandise at The St. Regis Bay Harbor Resort;

2. Get crafty and paint your own pottery at the Artsy Hive;

3. Visit Miami Seaquarium - For every paid admission, your abuelo or abuela will receive FREE entry! 

4. Learn how to make your own candy at Spun;

5. Hit some shots into targets and have a good time at Topgolf;

6. Go fishing at:

  • Oleta River State Park – North Miami Beach
  • Newport Fishing Pier – Sunny Isles Beach
  • South Pointe Pier – Miami Beach

7. Learn how to decorate beautiful cupcakes at Bunnie Cakes;

8. Visit your neighborhood fire station;

9. Pack your food and head to Surfside, Sunny Isles Beach or South Pointe to enjoy the fresh air and have a picnic at the beach;

10. Go for a day trip;

11. Attend a painting class at Painting With a Twist;

12. Visit a local library or bookstore and pick up a book from their own childhood.
