Do you remember the time when a weekend getaway was just a click away? It was easy – pick up a destination, go online, book the accommodation/flight, pack and go! We could even plan it last-minute. Right?
This was our pre-kids life; with kids it’s a different deal. We choose the destination based on the family friendly activities available in the area. We pack carefully, possibly with a check list at hand to make sure that we have enough cloths, nappies, toys, snacks, in-vehicle entertainment, water, etc. to cater for the kids for weeks, even if we’re going away just for a couple of days. We plan the road trip based on the services plazas, rest stops, sleep time, meals, etc.
Last but not least, we look to book an accommodation where all members of the family feel comfortable – where children are entertained whilst parents feel pampered too.

Extra space in the rooms – As soon as I enter any hotel room with the kids, I know that the mess is a given. Having some extra space helps deal with it and with the kids, especially when sleep time comes. Whilst the average hotel room is roughly 325sqf, according to USAToday, Omni Resort’s rooms’ offer ranges from the 406sqf deluxe rooms to the 2,100sqf interconnecting suites.

Pool – Omni Orlando Resort has a great selection of heated pools, including Orlando’s only resort wave pool, an 850-foot lazy river with water cannons, arched waterspouts and a waterfall, a zero entry family pool with three water slides, a pool with 125 ft. corkscrew water slide and water tower, and a formal pool with private cabanas.
Spa Services – If you need some time to yourself (who doesn’t?!?!), the Mokara Spa offers a broad variety of luxurious, soothing spa treatments from massages, facials and body wrap treatments to manicures and pedicures. An easy way to pamper yourself whilst your partner looks after the kids for a couple of hours.
The Kids Program – The Resort has a Omni Kids Crew program that caters to the youngest guests. Upon check-in, kids receive a backpack filled with fun items designed specifically for them (Activity book with stickers, Crayons, 2-in-1 card games, Binoculars, Small tabletop game). Kids also receive milk and cookies delivered to their guest room on the first night. The Omni Kids Crew coloring menu is available at their restaurants, with crayons and an Omni Kids Crew cup.
Facilities and Sports Activities – The resort also features two championship, Greg Norman-designed golf courses, The Leadbetter Golf Academy and a fitness center. Plus there are jogging and biking paths as well as a family-friendly miniature golf course, located near the pools, which features 18 fun-themed holes.
