JOIN US: Wooden Toy Workshop on January 19th (No School Day)!

Presented by Macaroni Kid NE Miami and Miami Beach and Metal Monkey Workshop

By Francesca Walker January 4, 2018

Wasn't winter break relaxing? For the kids, I mean. Wasn't it nice to spend some much-needed quality time with families? With holiday festivities, late nights and sleeping in, it will take us a week or so to get our family back on track after the winter recess. But January 19th will be Teacher Planning Day, another no-school day for many students in Miami-Dade County. Another day that will spread joy among children and panic among parents.

To help you solve the school break challenge and to get the most of this no school day, we've teamed up with Metal Monkey to bring you an exclusive Wooden Toy Workshop at one of our favorite local spots, Cream Parlor Cafè in Miami Upper East Side.

Here are the details:
What: Kids will learn how to use real tools to build and decorate their own toy car in the adorable outdoor patio of Cream Parlor.
When: Friday, January 19th at 10am
Where: Cream Parlor, 8224 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33138
Who: Moms (or dads) and their children ages 3 and up
Why: To let our kids create art in a safe and fun environment, and to spend time with other moms (or dads)!
How: Cost $35. The exclusive package includes:
✽ Attendance to Metal Monkey Workshop Class with a 15% discount on regular price;
✽ One beverage of your choice - Coffee, Homemade Rose Petal Lemonade, Soda, Apple Juice or Lemonade;
✽ Baked Sweetie of the Day or a Cookie.

Space is limited so RSVP HERE to reserve your space. We can only accept up to 12 moms and their kids. There will be a waiting list to attend once we get full!

As a working mom of 2, I have to admit that no-school days can feel quite unsettling because of the change of pace in our family’s routine. If you are anything like me, you love having your kids home but with the winter break you might have run out of ideas for fun kids friendly activities that will keep your children entertained. Sure there are video games to play, TV programs to watch, and friends to hang out with, but this is a new way to get our kids involved in something fun & educational! Let go of our anxiety about all the things we are “supposed” to be getting done on this day and use it instead as a special one to connect with our kids, build special memories and relax with other mons.
